More states are addressing dyslexia—and recognizing SPIRE
Multiple states have adopted standards to support students with dyslexia. In more and more of them, SPIRE has been approved or recommended as an instructional tool for dyslexia and reading intervention.
Alabama
Approved Alabama Literacy Act Intervention Programs

SPIRE, including seven levels of instruction, is approved and recommended for reading intervention and/or dyslexia-specific intervention as providing direct and explicit teacher-led instruction, being grounded in current research in the science of teaching reading, and best meeting the requirements of the Alabama Literacy Act.
Arizona
Arizona DOE Recognizes SPIRE and SPIRE Foundations: Sounds Sensible as Green-Rated MOWR Supplemental & Intervention Programs

SPIRE reading intervention together with SPIRE Foundations: Sounds Sensible (SPIRE Pre-Level 1) provide explicit, systematic, multisensory literacy instruction for striving readers, students with learning disabilities including dyslexia, English Language Learners, and Special Education, and meet all criteria for ESSA-level evidence.

Colorado
Advisory List of Instructional Programming

The READ Act requires the Colorado Department of Education to identify quality reading instructional programs for optional use by local education agencies.
