Let's explore how to move beyond a potential over-focus on dyslexia diagnosis and labels to ensure all students receive the effective instruction and intervention they need. We will focus on research-based, structured literacy approaches that benefit all learners in grades PreK-8.
Participants will:
- Consider why a dyslexia diagnosis alone is not enough to guarantee success for striving readers and why effective instruction must be the priority for all students.
- Learn how structured literacy and multisensory strategies can be applied across different grade levels.
- Hear from an experienced educator as she shares her journey in supporting striving readers and implementing approaches that transformed outcomes in her school.
- Become familiar with the four essential ingredients of any effective literacy initiative.
- Walk away with concrete steps that school and district leaders can take tomorrow to support student-centered, effective literacy instruction and intervention.
